ALEXANDRA VIVAS

Born In Colombia, Alexandra Vivas has established herself as filmmaker, Camera Operator who works as a freelance for films projects such a documentaries, features, commercials and music videos in all over the country. She began her filmmaking career in Venezuela working as a camera assistant for 16mm and 8mm projects during her college education, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Visual communications. She runs a Miami based collective / corporation under the name of CUADRO A CUADRO, what allows her to work as a Producer and photographer, expanding her knowledge in the production area and experimenting between film, digital and high definition world. She integrates her work with the art world, participating in multimedia shows and collectives rooms. After few years living in Miami, she moves to NY where she continues developing her carrer. She worked as associate Producer and Director of Photography in the documentary for HBO "HABLA MAS IN CHICAGO” what gives her the opportunity to be nominated as “BEST DOCUMENTARY FOR TELEVISION OR FILM” for the 2007 Imagen Awards .

Her most recently work as a Producer and Director of photography was the short Film A MONKTON FAMILY CHRISTMAS, winner of the 48 Hour Film Festival and Miami short Film Festival 2007 and was selected between 257 Teams around the world to be screened at CANNES FILM FESTIVAL 2008 - SHORT FILM CORNER.

Recent Clients include HBO, MTV3’s MTVUSA, JWT agency, Warner Channel, Nickelodeon , Discovery Channel, amongst others.

Currently she is directing a series of commercials for CONILL agency, part of the new advertising campaign for CONTINENTAL AIRLINES called “ VOLVER POR UN RATO “.
